Location: 1506 Como Avenue SE, Minneapolis
Hours: Tues-Wed: Noon-6PM, Thurs-Sun: Noon-8PM
Last week we finally got the chance to stop by PIFF in Minneapolis’ Como neighborhood. Purveyors of cool, the space is loaded with dope clothing, an entire wall of rare kicks and even an arcade game that allows you to win sneakers. Among the many items on display around the store, jaw droppers include a Supreme motorcycle helmet, BAPE x Adidas NMDs, Nike SB “Blue Lobsters,” and Yeezy’s. They also offer their own PIFF brand clothing, as well as The Hundreds and Carrots. A new, larger space across the street is currently in the works, so you know things will only grow bigger. A vast amount of HEAT for anyone looking to stay fresh, click the link below for a better look at what they have to offer.
The Chicken Connoisseur is back at it again with episode 11 of his web-series, “The Pengest Munch.” This time he’s off to Mile End for a stop at FFC, the crep is top notch; but the restaurant not so much. Peep episode 11 above and stay tuned for more from the Chicken Connoisseur.
The Pengest Munch is back with episode 10 at Morley’s. The Chicken Connoisseur links up with Bonkaz for a tour of Thornton Heath and some good eats. High scores across the board and you know the crep was on fleek. Check out episode 10 above and keep an eye out for the next installment.
The Pengest Munch is in full swing with the Chicken Connoisseur hitting Woodside Park in episode 7. Sam’s Chicken is the spot and they received decent ratings compared to previous places. Another entertaining episode from the Chicken Connoisseur, check out episode 7 above and be on the look out for the next one.
The Chicken Connoisseur is back with episode 6 of his ongoing YouTube series. This time he’ll be hitting up Chick King in London’s Tottenham neighborhood. As usual the crep is on point, but the chicken is as neutral as it gets. Check out the video for yourself above and keep an eye out for episode 7.
The Chicken Connoisseur is back with episode 5 of The Pengest Munch. This time around, he’s headed to London’s Lisson Grove neighborhood for a bite at Chicken Valley. Upon arrival things go downhill quickly, poor ratings across the board leave my mans longing for more. Check out episode 5 above and keep an eye out for episode 6.
Bauhaus Brew Labs. Aesthetically pleasing, tasty brews, all tucked neatly in the heart of the Brew District (NE Minneapolis). If you were to ask me what my favorite brewery is to attend, it is now Bauhaus Brew Labs. With open space, a large covered outdoor area with lights hanging overhead; it is the perfect place to go with larger groups.
Bauhaus also has an outdoor/indoor stage for live music, board games, bag toss, and a kid play area. These are all things that make this brewery unique to the scene around it. Just a block down from 612 Brew, placed alongside the railroad tracks, Bauhaus Brew Labs is just the new brewery we needed to liven up the brewery scene yet again.
Martin Scorsese agreed to serve as producer for an official Grateful Dead documentary back in October 2014. The Dead’s 50th anniversary was coming up the following year, and filmmakers wanted to have the project ready for the celebration. Unfortunately that didn’t happen, and the landmark event was ultimately celebrated with a massive 3-day concert over the 4th of July weekend in Chicago’s Soldier Field. Original members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, and Phil Lesh reunited on-stage for the event, which proved a huge success, despite the absence of Jerry Garcia, who died in 1995. Now, however, the 6-part documentary, appropriately titled Long Strange Trip from director Amir Bar-Lev (The Tillman Story, Happy Valley), is set to premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before being released on Amazon Prime this May.
