If you’re looking for more to do this summer than walk to the pool or have an occasional beach day, why not plan a trip around the annual Make Music Day festival this June 21st? Make Music Day is a worldwide event that features concerts, impromptu jam sessions, music lessons, and free events in more than 800 cities across 120 countries. Last year, 4,138 free concerts and events were held in 53 cities across North America in coordination with additional celebrations in cities around the world. All were held on June 21st. As impressive as that is, the organization is looking to one-up itself this year by adding more than 350 additional events to the line-up! That means plenty of destinations to choose from for a midsummer weekend road trip. Fête De La Musique was first started by France’s Ministry of Culture. It was held on the summer solstice in 1982 and since then has become an annual worldwide phenomenon, a celebration of music where all are welcome to participate or merely take in the atmosphere. Check out Make Music’s local links for Minneapolis and Chicago to find events happening in an area near you this summer, and get out and sing on June 21st!
Danish menswear brand, SOULLAND, recently posted the official pics of their upcoming collaboration with Nike SB. The two companies have created a pair of SB Dunk Lows and Highs set to release on Friday, December 15th. The kicks are super clean, utilizing white suede and leather with subtle blue accents, the detail bestowed upon these sneaks is unmatched. Set to retail at $155 (USD), these will be extremely limited; so unless you can make it to SOULLAND’s flagship store in Copenhagen, your best bet will be to download the Nike SNKRS app. Clink the link below for more info.
Bauhaus Brew Labs. Aesthetically pleasing, tasty brews, all tucked neatly in the heart of the Brew District (NE Minneapolis). If you were to ask me what my favorite brewery is to attend, it is now Bauhaus Brew Labs. With open space, a large covered outdoor area with lights hanging overhead; it is the perfect place to go with larger groups.
Bauhaus also has an outdoor/indoor stage for live music, board games, bag toss, and a kid play area. These are all things that make this brewery unique to the scene around it. Just a block down from 612 Brew, placed alongside the railroad tracks, Bauhaus Brew Labs is just the new brewery we needed to liven up the brewery scene yet again.

Purveyors of cool, the space is loaded with dope clothing, an entire wall of rare kicks and even an arcade game that allows you to win sneakers. Among the many items on display around the store, jaw droppers include a Supreme motorcycle helmet, BAPE x Adidas NMDs, Nike SB “Blue Lobsters,” and Yeezy’s. They also offer their own PIFF brand clothing, as well as The Hundreds and Carrots. A new, larger space across the street is currently in the works, so you know things will only grow bigger.
