King Chip’s “The Royal” Tour recently kicked off it’s west coast leg with around 21 dates in just over 1 month. Chip Tha Ripper just went through Minneapolis so it’s no surprise that we’re not on the list for this tour. Our Chicago peeps are in luck because Chip will be live at Reggie’s Rock Club this Friday alongside Tre Readeu and Myke Bogan. The show is 18+ and advance tickets are still available for $15 ($20 @ door), click the link below and make sure to be on the look out for more.
After recently surviving a car crash with minimal injuries, Cleveland MC Joey Aich took a little time to reflect on life. Last week Joey returned with a new track titled “Soup,” an introspective record that sees Joey in good shape; showing off various flows on the off canter instrumental. Glad to see that the kid’s ok, check out “Soup” above and make sure to be on the look out for more from Joey Aich.
Ray Ave and Joey Aich recently linked up on a new track titled, “Saturday Morning.” The jazzy, horn heavy instrumental allows for introspection as both rappers paint pictures of their current situation. Drenched in an aura from yesteryear, “Saturday Morning” is a track that you can grind to and ride to. Both MCs put forth strong verses and the chorus will definitely keep your head bobbing. Check out “Saturday Morning” above and stay tuned for more.
Academy Award-winner Al Pacino (The Godfather, Scarface) will be back on the big screen this month in a new dramatic-comedy from writer/director Dan Fogelman (Crazy Stupid Love, Last Vegas) titled Danny Collins. Inspired by a true story, the film follows an aging rock star, Danny Collins, who discovers an undelivered letter addressed to him from John Lennon from 40 years earlier. Inspired by Lennon’s words, Collins sets out on a mission to reconnect with his estranged family and discover life outside of the rock-n-roll world of sex, drugs, alcohol, and constant publicity. Co-starring in the film are actors Annette Benning (American Beauty, The Kids Are Alright), Jennifer Garner (Pearl Harbor, Dallas Buyers Club), Bobby Cannavale (The Station Agent, Chef), and Christopher Plummer (The Sound of Music, A Beautiful Mind). The film will see a limited release this March 20th before it shows at the Cleveland International Film Festival on the 29th; check your local theaters for showtime information. You can see the trailer here on MADE; John Lennon fans can also check out the soundtrack, which will feature several of his hit songs. Enjoy!
Kid Cudi took to Twitter earlier today to drop a surprise record titled, “love.” We haven’t heard much from Cudi since his brief Twitter scuffle with Chuck Inglish over a supposedly leaked track, it’s good to see that he’s back working. If you’re a fan of Cudder then you’ll most likely enjoy this song, and you’ll definitely recognize a few of his favorite sounds being used. “love” is a good start for an artist who has receded in recent years, time will tell what’s next for Kid Cudi, we hope this means we’ll see a lot more from him.
Cleveland MC Joey Aich is back with a video for his track “Smooth Hardcore”. We’ve been keeping up with joey for quite some time now and it’s been fun watching the kid grow. “Smooth Hardcore” is reminiscent of those golden era days when hip hop was largely centered around the east coast. The last track on his project College D.egree, “Smooth Hardcore” transfers well onto video; Joey and Parker Maimbourg do a good job meshing the song and visual together. Check it out above and keep an eye out for more from Joey Aich.

King Chip (formerly Chip Tha Ripper) will be sliding through Chicago tonight. It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Chip live, so you can bet it’s going to be a good show. No word on any other performers yet, but the event is billed at 17+. There’s no telling when the next time you’ll see Chip and $15 bucks isn’t bad at all, click the link below and cop your tickets now.
Awhile back, Joey Aich dropped off some newness in the form of a new track “Tattered Labels”. Joey continues to grow with each record he releases. If you remember College D.egree, then you remember a solid project from an artist with room for improvement. Joey has been doing just that ever since College D.egree’s release back in May. “Tattered Labels” switches lanes at the midway point giving Joey a chance to show off his ability to switch up flows. Check out “Tattered Labels” below and stay tuned for more from the Cleveland MC.
Today, Cleveland producer Corey Grand dropped his new EP Bathed in Light. The 30 minute instrumental tape blends genres with a large variety of sounds in each segment. At times ambient and dark, at others upbeat and bright, Bathed In Light is a front to back listening experience. Check out the EP below and make sure to keep an eye out for more from DJ Corey Grand.
