Our homies from Beasthead recently went through a roller coaster ordeal involving the bulk of their equipment being stolen from their car. After a long couple of weeks tracking down the stolen merch in conjunction with the local authorities and a few trusty pawn shop owners, Beasthead has recovered 3 out of the 5 stolen items. The scene has embraced the cause as well with a variety of local bands stepping up to play including Cruel Love, Glow Mechanics, Cool Polution, Sayth and many more. On top of that, it’s Doug’s birthday so we’ll be partying a little extra hard, not bad for a Wednesday night. The door is 21+ and there is a suggested donation of $5 (don’t be that person), if you can’t make the show you can hit up their GoFundMe page to contribute whatever you’re able to. If you’re looking for something to fill in your evening, come down to the Nomad Wednesday for what should be a great time.

August is officially here and it’s looking like a good one. In addition to the numerous street festivals planned for this month, a plethora of events are beginning to surface. Sound Verite & City Pages recently announced an event titled “New Space” to kick off the month of August. The night will feature performances from Greg Grease, Allan Kingdom & Manny Phesto to name a few, along with DJ Just Nine on the 1s & 2s. This one’s 18+ and advance tickets are only $7, they’ll also be available at the door (pending sell-out) for $10. If you’re smart, you’d cope your tickets ASAP.
The City Page’s second annual 10 Thousand Sounds Festival is upon us and it appears to have a solid lineup. The event is looking like a good time with performances from Poliça, Allan Kingdom, Carroll, Frankie Teardrop and a “very special” guest, they’ve already noted that it will NOT be The Replacements. Early bird tickets for the festival are no longer on sale, which was a great deal. The prices were bumped up to $25 which ain’t so bad either. If you happen to snooze, tickets will be $30 at the door and if you want to go all the way, VIP passes are available for $40. In addition to prime seating, the VIP passes will also include unlimited Pizza Lucé. Click the link below for tickets, this is definitely a must attend event.
Adam DeGross recently won the City Pages’ Best Twin Cities Music Photographer with a whopping 35% of the entire vote. After narrowing the competition down to 20 finalists, 3,000 votes helped to confirm that Adam DeGross is indeed the Twin Cities’ best concert photographer.
