Reports are now confirmed that actor Bill Paxton passed away this Oscar-weekend at the age of 61 due to complications from surgery. Paxton began his career in Hollywood doing art department and background work before he was cast in a small cameo in The Terminator by director James Cameron in 1984. Since then, Paxton has gone on to star in many roles in an impressive number of iconic films. He again teamed up with Cameron for Aliens as Private Hudson in 1986, and has starred in blockbusters like Tombstone (1993), True Lies (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), Titanic (1997), U-571 (2000), Vertical Limit (2000), Edge of Tomorrow (2014), and Nightcrawler (2014). His most recent project was the lead in a television adaptation of director Antione Fuqua’s 2001 cop-drama Training Day.
In addition to acting, Paxton also directed a number of pictures. He directed himself and co-stars Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe in the violent FBI drama Frailty (2001), and Shia LaBeouf in The Greatest Game Ever Played (2005). His final role will be in a film called The Circle, opposite Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Beauty and the Beast), Karen Gillan (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Big Short), and Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, Bridge of Spies). His contribution to film throughout the years will surely be missed in the years to come. Thanks Bill for all of your great work. Our thoughts are with your family and friends. Continue reading →

The Weiners Circle is definitely a top 10 hot dog shack in the city of Chicago. Situated just south of Chicago’s bustling WrigleyVille corridor, this place can get pretty out of control around bar close, which makes for an interesting experience. During the day you’ll get the toned down version but venture here late on a Friday or Saturday night and i guarantee you’ll leave full and with a smile on your face. Obscene comments, offensive remarks and all; this place actually has some pretty good food. The char-broiled cheddar burger is a personal favorite but i’ve heard good things about their char-dog as well. The Weiners Circle recently inked a deal with Tru Tv for a reality show so be on the look out for that, check out the clip below if you want to see what you’re in for.
Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard in Blade Runner (1982)
With Exodus: Gods and Kings opening in theaters December 12th, director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Robin Hood), will be turning more attention to his upcoming release with Matt Damon, The Martian. It was also announced earlier this year that the director would return for a follow-up to his iconic sci-fi film Blade Runner (1982), but now it seems that he will only be serving as co-writer and producer for the project. It’s been rumored that Michael Green (Green Lantern) will also be writing the script and that original writer Hampton Francher will not return. Harrison Ford is also expected to reprise his original role of Rick Deckard for a portion of the film, but there has been no news of any other returning roles. Blade Runner received two Oscar nominations in 1983 for Best Set Decoration and Best Visual Effects, and was praised among various film societies that year including the New York Film Critics Circle, Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and the London Critics Circle. Ridley Scott is not only working on wrapping up The Martian, but also serving as producer or executive producer on more than fifteen upcoming film or television projects, so one can understand why he might not want to step in or even be able to fit filming into his schedule, but seeing as Blade Runner is one of his most memorable films, this kind of comes as a big surprise. Hopefully a worthy director will step in to pick up the mantle. Stay tuned.
