About a month back, BlaccOut Garrison dropped a new track titled “City Love” for all of our listening pleasure. Produced by Flying Lotus, the record’s somber, piano laden instrumental complements BlaccOut’s introspective flow nicely. Delaney Kai’s vocals layer well on the chorus allowing BlaccOut to inject a little more emotion into the record. Another solid track from one of Minneapolis’veteran MCs, check out “City Love” below and keep an eye out for more from BlaccOut Garrison.
A few days ago we received a track from The Elle entitled “Wishing On A Star.” Produced by X P-SOUL, the rolling, piano heavy instrumental comes off jazzy and groovy while maintaining a serious tone. The Elle’s voice resonates through the record well, she does a great job of commanding the record without coming off overbearing. Another product of Minneapolis, Blaccout Garrison puts forth a solid verse matching Elle’s energy nicely. A track we’d love to see a visual for, check out “Wishing On A Star” below and stay tuned for more from The Elle.
A few days ago, veteran Twin Cities MC BlaccOut Garrison released his new EP, Hungry Soulful. It’s been a little bit since we’ve gotten a full project from BlaccOut, but he’s steadily re-emerging after a short hiatus. The 6 track EP is an introspective glimpse into BlaccOut’s mind, trials and tribulations. The 1st record, “Bite The Bullet” opens the project nicely and sets the tone for what’s to follow. Soulful indeed, Hungry Soulful is chalk full of substance, it feels very polished and deliberate. BlaccOut displays a high level of lyricism throughout, don’t be afraid to press rewind a few times. A solid body of work from the playful “Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert” to the trunk rattling “Cost Is Wild/Feel It.” Check out the Hungry Soulful EP below and stay tuned for more from BlaccOut Garrison.
Minneapolis spitter BlaccOut Garrison recently sent us a new track titled “Your Favorite”. Produced by BasquiatMusic, the record’s classic sample creates a golden era vibe from the beginning. BlaccOut jumps right in attacking the track with a plethora of metaphors and slick lines. Throw in a solid hook and the record is hard to not vibe too. With his sophomore album Young Dreamer due out in 2015, this is a good glimpse at what’s to come, check out “Your Favorite” below.
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from MN rapper BlaccOut Garrison, but that all changed earlier this week. After a long hiatus, BlaccOut took to Twitter to release a new track entitled “Mistakes”. The record plays like pages straight out of a hidden diary, at times a reflection on the past, at others thoughts about the future. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for BlaccOut, now that he’s back in the booth, we’re sure you’ll be hearing a lot more from him.
