The kid KAS has been low key as of late, but that all changed today with the release of a new track titled “Arizona.” The budding southside artist is known for his smooth, tropical sound and “Arizona” fits that mold to a T. Produced by the man himself, this record once again shows off KAS’ duel threat ability, which might be turning into a triple threat if he continues to produce like this. Right on time for the sunny days ahead, “Arizona” should get plenty of air-time in the coming months, check out the song above and keep an eye out for more from KAS.

A while back, a kid I went to high school with named Zach Moore, posted some absolutely amazing pictures of his trip across the U.S. Zach and his friends traversed the Midwest and West Coast by car stopping at notable spots like Yellow Stone National Park, the Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Park, among other destinations. Check out some of the photos above, they’re absolutely breath taking.
Writer/director Kevin Smith (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Tusk) seems to be making some solid progress on his announced upcoming sequel to Mallrats. Smith tweeted on May 11th that he has completed a 113-page draft for Mallbrats (the new title for the project) and will be dedicating it to original Mallrats producer Jim Jacks (Raising Arizona, The Mummy), who passed away just last year. Production on Clerks 3 has also been pushed back while the Mallbrats crew works on the set-production in the currently empty mall that will be used for filming. Returning for the new movie are original actors Jeremy London (Breaking Free, Levitation), Claire Forlani (The Rock, Meet Joe Black), Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl, The Wolf of Wall Street), Joey Lauren Adams (Dazed and Confused, Big Daddy), Brian O’Halloran (Clerks, Dogma), Sven-Ole Thorsen (Lethal Weapon, Gladiator), Renee Humphrey (French Kiss, The Sex Monster), as well as Smith’s long time collaborator, actor/producer Scott Mosier (Chasing Amy, Good Will Hunting). Thus far there is no news as to whether or not Jason Lee (Almost Famous, Dreamcatcher) or Ben Affleck (Argo, Gone Girl) will return to reprise their roles, but we’ll keep you posted. Stay tuned!

Frances McDormand recently revealed that she had an unknown role in the upcoming comedy from Joel and Ethan Coen, Hail Caesar. McDormand is no stranger to Coen Brothers movies, having appeared in Burn After Reading (2008), The Man Who Wasn’t There (2001), and Raising Arizona (1987). She also secured an Oscar for Best Actress for the Coen’s 1997 crime thriller Fargo. Hail Caesar already has an all-star cast attached to appear, including George Clooney in the lead role, with Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Josh Brolin, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, and Alden Ehrenreich (who just appeared in Woody Allen’s Oscar-winning dramedy Blue Jasmine) making up the supporting cast. While McDormand is obviously a great addition to the cast, the decision to cast her is really not so surprising. The Coens have always had a tendency to work with the same actors, including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Bridges, and Josh Brolin. Hail Caesar will follow the story of Eddie Mannix, a “fixer” in the studios of Hollywood responsible for protecting the reputations of the film industry’s biggest moneymakers. It should make for an interesting watch, but we won’t see it hit theaters until sometime in 2015, so stay tuned.
The small independent label out of Flagstaff, Arizona, released their first compilation tape. The label has released a few tapes in the past to showcase music made in physical formate by focuses on releasing unique and euphonious tapes. The idea behind this is real dope and we hope to see more labels doing this. Snowfall Tapes Vol.1 features a wide variety of futuristic/experimental beats that are killer from the second it opens. Make sure to take a listen and if you like, you can purchase a physical copy for a measly $1.
Stevie Williams’ Asphalt Yacht Club has been taking things slow since their birth late last year, but that seems to all be changing. Over the past few months the team has been traveling and compiling film for their debut release later this year. Along the way they decided to share a little bit of their trip through the American SouthWest. The clip features Nijah Huston, Stevie Williams, Stefan Janoski, Riley Hawk (Yup, Tony’s son), Derrick Wilson & Jaws among others; this team is a force to be reckoned with. Peep the video above and keep an eye out for more from AYC. (Riley Hawk @ 2:38 is nuts!!)
