New Dramatic Adaptation of ‘Macbeth’ Opening In Theaters December 4th, 2015

This holiday season is sure to be full of enough big releases to keep you busy until next Spring, especially with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Before Star Wars mania overtakes the holidays, however, there are a number of feature releases that will definitely be worth your time to go and see. One such release comes in the first week of December, a new dramatic war-adaptation of William Shakespeare‘s Macbeth from director Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders, The Turning). The classic tragedy of Macbeth, a Scottish Thane who kills his king after three witches prophesize his taking the thrown but who then becomes divided by his own ambition and paranoia, was adapted for the screen by writers Jacob Koskoff (The Marc Pease Experience), Michael Lesslie (Airlock or How to Say Goodbye in Space, Skirt), and actor-turned-writer Todd Louiso (Jerry Maguire, Thank You For Smoking). Starring in the lead as Macbeth is Oscar-nominee Michael Fassbender (12 Years A Slave, The Counselor), with Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises, Midnight In Paris), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, The Man From UNCLE), Sean Harris (Deliver Us From Evil, Mission:Impossible-Rogue Nation), and David Thewlis (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Theory of Everything) included in the supporting cast. The movie will be opening in theaters this December 4th. Check out the trailer here on MADE.

‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ Now Playing In Theaters

Tom Cruise (Top Gun, War of the Worlds) is back on the big screen this week in yet another outing as Impossible Mission Force leader Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. This is the fifth installment in the MI series that started back in 1996 with director Brian De Palma (Scarface, The Untouchables) and screenwriter David Koepp‘s (Jurassic Park, Spider-Man) big screen adaptation of the popular TV series. Since then directors like John Woo, J.J. Abrams, and Brad Bird have stepped in to helm additional sequels, and now Rogue Nation is playing in theaters nationwide from Oscar-winning writer/director Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, Jack Reacher). Joining Cruise in the supporting cast are actors Jeremy Renner (The Avengers, The Bourne Legacy), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol), Rebecca Ferguson (The White Queen, Hercules), and Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Con Air). This time out Hunt and company must take on the Syndicate, a rogue international group of special agents that are out to kill all the members of IMF. Reviews have been pretty positive thus far; fans of the series report lots of action, but you don’t need to have seen the previous films necessarily to enjoy it. Anyway, check it out on the big screen today!

New Trailer For Edward Snowden Biopic Now Available

Here we have a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Oliver Stone (The Doors, Born on the Fourth of July) biopic on NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. The film is appropriately (and simply) titled Snowden and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, The Dark Knight Rises) in the title role. While production has been underway for on the project for sometime, one would expect to see at least a 10-second clip of actual footage, but with this teaser all you really get are some words outlining highlights of Snowden’s life and a clever phrase to top-off the 86-second clip (even though “One Nation, Under Surveillance” is pretty clever considering the subject matter). Also starring in the film are actors Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent), Melissa Leo (The Fighter, Prisoners), Zachary Quinto (24, Star Trek: Into Darkness), Tom Wilkinson (The Patriot, Rush Hour), Rhys Ifans (Anonymous, The Amazing Spider Man), and Nicholas Cage (Con-Air, National Treasure). The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on Christmas Day, right alongside Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight. We’ll keep an eye out for additional trailers as they come out. Stay tuned!

Oscar Viñals AWWA Progress Eagle concept jet

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

About a year ago, we featured an earlier version of Oscar Viñals concept of their super-eco jet. They have since come up with one solid design, with this futuristic plane. With improved physical characteristics and further reducing it’s carbon footprint, this plane could very well be similar to what we will be using in the future. The plan uses hydrogen fuel, Nano-Kinetic power system, and is ultra lightweight: the Progress Eagle is built out of carbon fiber, graphene, aluminum and titanium (to name a few). Peep the concept video below.

Actor Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken in John Carpenter’s Escape From New York (1981).

Deadline has recently reported that Twentieth Century Fox just won the rights to writer/director John Carpenter‘s 1981 action-flick Escape From New York. The film starred Kurt Russell (The Thing, Death Proof) as contracted-convict Snake Plissken, who is given the task of rescuing the US President (British actor Donald Pleasance) from futuristic New York City, after Air Force One crashes there and the criminals/inmates that now inhabit the city attempt to take him hostage. Lee Van Cleef (A Fistful of Dollars, The Good The Bad and the Ugly) also starred in the original picture. Now a remake of the cult classic is in the works at the studio with John Carpenter, himself, getting involved as executive producer, but no news has been released as to who will star in the film and a release date is still out of the question, but we’ll keep you posted.
