Ron Howard did a decent job directing Tom Hanks in the film adaptations of Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code (2006) and Angels and Demons (2009). The latest installment by the novelist, entitled Inferno, has recently been met with the possibility of another Howard/Hanks collaboration. Howard had previously decided not to direct the third Langdon adventure, The Lost Symbol, which has apparently been put back on the shelves, but now there are rumors of a reunion between the writer and director for the new project. The Langdon series is no stranger, however, to off-setting chronology. Although The Da Vinci Code was the first book to be adapted to film, it is actually the second installment in the book series, acting as the follow-up to Angels and Demons, which was published in 2000. I would advise reading the book before going to see this one; Dan Brown is a great writer if you enjoy fast-paced mysteries incorporating historic events, corruption, and murder! The movie may be out as early as 2015, but as of now there is no official release date.
