_whtspce – nightfall

A few weeks ago we began getting acquainted with the music of St. Paul producer _whtspce. His latest offering, Pale Cocoon, is described as a “fusion of hip hop rhythm, ambient soundscapes, and glitchy sound design to conceptualize my love (obsession really…) for Bushido and our earths’ moon.” Stoic and unwavering, we found that “nightfall” embodies this very spirit really well. Constant and calculated, yet cold, the instrumental seems to morph as it floats along. Check out “nightfall” above and be on the look out for Pale Cocoon in it’s entirety.

Chester Watson “Past Cloaks”

It’s hard to believe that Chester Watson is still only 19 years old. After first being introduced to his music in 2012, then eventually meeting him in 2014; it feels as if the kid is a weathered veteran. He recently took to Bandcamp to drop a tape titled Past Cloaks, a collection of fan favorites and loose records that never made the final cuts. Through the years Chester has shown a penchant for highly complex lyricism, many continue to regard him as one of the brightest mcs in the next generation. Check out Past Cloaks below and click the link for his official Bandcamp page.

Lubi – Antisocial

A couple of weeks ago we received a track from Lubi dubbed “Antisocial.” As you can probably guess from the title, the record is laced with feelings of isolation, but the instrumental gives off a triumphant vibe as opposed to one of a darker nature. A “show turner” no doubt, this is the type of track that might just make the venue go crazy. Check out “Antisocial” above and be on the look out for more from Lubi as he prepares is 2017 debut.

Known for his crisp visuals, thanks to the homies from Cereal Films, Plaza recently released yet another solid piece in “Fuck It.” High octane from the jump, “Fuck It” thumps hard while Plaza uses his intricate lyricism to inject energy into the track.
