In June 2012 Emporium opened it’s doors at the forefront of the then current “barcade” trend. Situated in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood, just down the street from the bustling “6 corners,” Emporium established itself as one of CHI’s premier barcades. Location aside, they have an awesome beer menu, and if you’re into whiskey (we are), they have a separate menu dedicated entirely to the “Ruckus Juice.” When it comes to the games, these guys hit the nail on the head; you’ll find ALL of the classics: The Simpsons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, NBA JAM, and Street Fighter. If that wasn’t good enough, they have a separate room dedicated entirely to pinball and live music. Emporium is dope but beware, if you come here late on a Friday or Saturday night, you’ll probably end up doing more waiting and watching than actual playing; so go early or on odd days if you’re there strictly for the games. This place is ideal for a pre-game before the night begins, I’d highly recommend a stop if you’re near “6 Corners”.
The Country Bar has been back for quite sometime now, but it hasn’t quite recaptured it’s once lively atmosphere. DJ Just Nine and DJ Frank Castle are looking to change all of that with their new RODEO dance party. Drinks will be as low as $3 after 10PM, so make sure to arrive thirsty. They still offer those famous wings too, click the link below for more info.
The Viking Bar is looking like the place to be tomorrow night. Our friends from My Parent’s Bassment recently started their “Thirsty Thursday” series over at the Viking and this week they’ve got an extra special guest. The south side’s own Drelli will be in the building for a live performance and there will be plenty of drink specials to fuel the party. This one is 21+ and FREE with a college ID, otherwise the door is only $5; make sure to stop by if you’re looking for something to do.
The Zombie Pub Crawl’s 12th year is upon us and the event is looking to be as crazy as ever. Known for it’s mix of old and new headliners, this years lineup will feature performances from Rae Sremmurd, Zomboy, IloveMakonnen, Ja Rule, Smash Mouth, Andrew Wk, and Finding Novyon among others. The event will also feature a bunch of other festivities including drink specials at bars within the Zombie zone. This one is 21+ and general admission tickets are still available for $38, click the link below to grab yours now.
The My Parent’s Bassment Crew has had a GREAT 2016, from pop up shows to all night dance parties to rooftops; these guys know how to put on a good time. Their next event will go down at Seven Steakhouse in downtown Minneapolis. If you’ve never been, Seven has arguably the nicest rooftop in the Twin Cities, so you already know it’s going down. This one is 21+ and FREE, make sure to come fresh and ready to party.
Location: 501 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis When: Saturday, July 2nd @ 9PM
A few of the homies will be throwing a party at the Nomad next weekend. DJ Snuggles, Travis Gorman, and Frank Castle will all hold down the 1s and 2s; along with a few special guest performances throughout the night. If you know the Nomad then you know this should definitely be a good night. The door is 21+ and tickets are only $5, if you’re looking for something to do during 4th of July weekend, look no further.
Shepherd Goods & No Flashy Shit plan to link up in a couple of weeks for a pop up shop in Minneapolis. Both brands are on the come up and the friendly confines of Seven’s rooftop should provide a perfect atmosphere for the event. DJ Ganzo Bean will hold down the 1s & 2s and drink specials will be available all day long, not bad for a day party. This one is 21+ and FREE, click the link below for more information.
