P.O.S has a busy December ahead of him. His “Chill, Dummy” tour just kicked off it’s European leg with 10 stops across 6 countries. Shortly after returning to the states he will team up with Surly Brewing for what should be an awesome NYE party. The night will also feature performances from Later Babes, as well as DJs Ander Other and Rowsheen. This is bound to be a high energy affair and there’s no telling who else might make an appearance throughout the night. This show is now SOLD OUT, your best bet for tickets might be Facebook or Twitter.
Francis Brown has proved himself to be very capable behind the mic, whether with his band Unknown Creatures or as a solo artist. His latest release comes in the form of a single titled, “Coffee,” which also features Spencer Joles. Produced by Aquarius Mind, the dreamy, hi-hat laden instrumental provides Brown with a canvas to unleash some of his inner thoughts. As the track progresses, the record morphs into something entirely different with Joles’ distorted vocals playing as an instrument itself. A well rounded release from an artist who you should be hearing a lot more of in 2018, check out “Coffee” above and stay tuned for more from Francis Brown.

The night will feature hip hop and R&B along with a menu of rum infused cocktails, while the kitchen pumps out signature Jamaican fare all night. In recent years, Minneapolis’ West Bank has begun the transformation from a place often overlooked, into a bustling, multi-cultural strip with plenty of cool bars, good restaurants and venues to enjoy live music. One such bar/venue is the Nomad World Pub, which is located just across from Palmer’s; a couple of blocks from the Triple Rock. In addition to a constant rotation of live acts, the Nomad offers bocce ball, pinball (brand new) and even curling in the winter, along with a separate patio complete with a fire pit. Drink specials like 2 for 1s and the good ole’ prefix (PBR & shot) are offered pretty much every night and the music is always on point whether it’s rock, hip hop, soul or a DJ spinning. The Nomad is often at that perfect capacity, not too packed, but far from empty, however; there always seems to be a random influx or two throughout any night, probably due to it’s location between so many other bars. If you’re into futbol, the Nomad is one of the best places in town to catch a match in peace, and game days are usually accompanied with extra specials. All in all, the Nomad World Pub is a great bar to kick back a few brews and enjoy some good local music, they always have good beers on tap and they consistently book quality bands/artists. If you’re ever on the West Bank in search of a place to drink, stop by the Nomad and check out what they have to offer.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Talib Kweli and Metasota’s ongoing feud, the two MCs have been going back and forth ever since Meta’s now infamous tweet poking fun at Talib’s exemption from Jay-Z’s last series of tweets. The God MC himself took time out of his busy schedule to thank various artists including many from Talib’s old crew, except there was no mention of Talib himself. Meta took to Twitter with this observation, and lets just say that things escalated quickly. Recently more fuel was thrown onto the fire resulting in more back and forth insults on Twitter, but Metasota took things a step further by releasing a diss track titled “Get Bye.” Produced by MMYYKK, the record feels tailor made for Meta allowing him to waste zero bars addressing the situation. Punchlines and slick word play are all over this one, but it honestly feels like Meta was holding back. Check out “Get Bye” for yourself below and keep an eye out for more as things heat up.
