The CRAM boys have had a busy year, whether performing at festivals across the nation or opening for national headliners in the Twin Cities, these guys are clearly making their mark. Front man Jaylap recently released a visual for a solo track dubbed “Do Like Me.” The record’s wavy production mixes perfectly with Jaylap’s infectious chorus, while the visuals provide a nice compliment. Say what you want, it’s obvious that Jaylap and the CRAM guys are doing something right. Check out the video above and be on the look out for more from CRAM.
At this point it’s no secret to Minnesotans that J Kelr & Finding Novyon dropped one of the most highly totted albums of 2016. Since then Finding Novyon has made the move to L.A. amidst what almost feels like an exodus of talent from the Twin Cities region. A few weeks back the duo dropped the instrumental version of their album, but also released a record that may not have made the initial cut. “Hennepin Ave” is a smooth ride down memory lane, Novyon attacks the MC friendly production with the precision of a boxer preparing for the next big match. Bars overflowing with honesty offer a rare glimpse into the downside of the “come up,” check out “Hennepin Ave” below and stay tuned for more from Finding Novyon.

The SPVCE crew has been on the move as of late notably taking over PYRMD & Icehouse on any given night of the week. The event will feature sets from DJ Cam Jones, DJ BVCKWOODS, DJ Neekasodope, Koffa, and special guest Topper Atwood. If you know like we know, you can bet the on stage performances wont stop there, this one is 21+ and the door is only $7.
The kid Lubi has been quiet as of late. Calculated and precise, Lubi has taken his opportunities in stride showing out at GO95’s “Shut Up & Rap” showcase, while working on music behind the scenes. His latest offering strays away from his usual methods in a great way, it’s obvious that he is versatile, but it’s also obvious that he is feeling out exactly where his “sound” might transcend. Accompanied by Drey Nasty, the record has a radio feel, not to mention the flex production credit from Chicago’s own Martin $ky. Two artist that you NEED to keep on your radar, check out “Fear” above and make sure to keep an eye out for more from Lubi and Drey Nasty.

The Twin Cities’ own Muja Messia and Niles will open up the night, a solid evening of true hip hop. It’s no secret that Muja Messiah is one of the Twin Cities’ most impressive lyricists, yesterday he proved once again why he has earned such admiration. Freshly married and just ahead of his upcoming album release with Roc Marciano, Muja tears the booth to shreds with a spitfire freestyle over a medley of instrumentals. Greats have a way of making it look easy and that’s exactly what Muja Messiah does in the above video. Check it out and make sure to keep an eye out for Saran Rap, which is due out October 13th
