First Avenue’s 7th Street Entry might be the place to go tonight for an event dubbed, “The Shimmy.” The lineup is pretty stacked featuring DJ Sets from Tek, Boogie WNDRLND, UJU, and Travis Gorman; as well as appearances from Sam Wayne, Prolly Tri$, and GYM. Despite the flyer this show is only $5 and the door is 18+, not bad for a Wednesday night. Click the link below to purchase tickets in advance.
The kid KAS has been low key as of late, but that all changed today with the release of a new track titled “Arizona.” The budding southside artist is known for his smooth, tropical sound and “Arizona” fits that mold to a T. Produced by the man himself, this record once again shows off KAS’ duel threat ability, which might be turning into a triple threat if he continues to produce like this. Right on time for the sunny days ahead, “Arizona” should get plenty of air-time in the coming months, check out the song above and keep an eye out for more from KAS.
Location: SE 7th St & SE 14th Ave When: Saturday, April 22nd @ Noon

This weekend is looking like a glorious one for anyone in the Twin Cities. Not only will we celebrate the life of the late great Prince, Record Store Day festivities will also be plentiful across the metro. One of the more notable RSD events is Fifth Element/Rhymesayer’s annual sale at their headquarters in Uptown. This year they’ll be offering 20% of select vinyls and up to 50% off select CDs, they will also have a boat load of merch and used vinyl to dig through. If that wasn’t enough, there will also be live sets from DJ Keezy, Destiny Roberts, Nazeem & Spencer Joles, and DJ Just Nine. This event is free and open to all ages, make sure to come early if you’re serious about scoring some of the hotter deals.
Tek will bring his live band to the Uptown VFW in a couple of weeks, the event will also feature a solid lineup. The SPVCE crew has been making a lot of moves as of late. Today, RP Hooks released another new visual, this time for a record dubbed “Roll Call.” Shot by Dogfood Media, the video is simple, but fits the record extremely well. The vocal mixing on this track is next level, Hooks continues to make impressive strides as an all around artist. Rebellious and fiery, “Roll Call” is another solid record from an artist who should be on EVERYONE’S radar. Check out the video for “Roll Call” above and stay tuned for more from RP Hooks.

Allan Kingdom is indeed on top of his game. The Twin Cities artist recently released his latest album, Lines, and it doesn’t disappoint. The Northern Gentleman has built up an impressive catalog so far, Lines feels like the embodiment of everything he has given us thus far. Experimental yet calculated, the album is injected with a variety of sounds, at times it feels a little disjointed, but each song shows just how versatile Allan has grown to be. Some of our personal favorites include Leaders, Know About It, Feeling Magnetic, and Fuck My Enemies (ft. Kevin Abstract), all of which carry different sounds. Another solid project from Allan Kingdom, check out Lines below and stay tuned for more.
