Kendrick Lamar – Alright (Video)

Kendrick Lamar took to the web today to release the official video for his track “Alright.” One of the lead singles off of his critically acclaimed album, To Kill A Butterfly, “Alright” is probably the most high energy track on the record. The visual features some strikingly powerful images such as 4 policeman carrying Kendrick Lamar’s car and the shooting of an unarmed black man by the guess who? The Police. Kendrick continues to up the ante with unprecedented social and political commentary that most artists are simply afraid to touch upon. Check out the video for “Alright” above and be on the look out for more.

[MADE] Brew of the Week

This week, we bring a second consecutive brew from Free State Brewery, with Ad Astra Ale. Ad Astra, comes directly from the Kansas state motto, “Ad Astra per Aspera”. These are Latin words meaning “To the stars through difficulties”.

The brew itself, is an Altbier, which is a German old-style brew. This style of brew can be less common by american breweries, as they yield high malted caramel, smooth bitters and nut flavors. The brew is most similar to a brown ale. Sitting at lighter 5.6% ABV, this brew is as smooth as they come. With a large amount of the flavors upfront, the finish is near impeccable. Crack a brew and turn on the ole Nintendo and you’re set.

Nike Dunk High “Red October”

2015 has been a great year for the Nike Dunk and things don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. The latest release under the Dunk umbrella comes in the form of a “Red October” version dressed in red suede and nylon. Taking obvious cues from the Yeezy “Red October,” these kicks might be one season too late, but they’re still a solid addition to any sneaker head’s closet. The Nike Dunk High “Red October” should be available now at select Nike retailers for $120, if you like what you see contact your local Nike retailer to see if they have them in.

Familia x Nike SB Dunk High “Blue Ox”

With Familia celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary a few weeks back, the Uptown skate shop proved they were celebrating big, announcing a collaboration with Nike SB. The Dunk High ” Blow Ox” was born, skaters and sneaker heads rejoiced, but details surrounding the release are STILL nil to none. This Saturday, July 4th is the day, if you’re dying to grab a pair (like me) stop by the shop and see what’s up, we’ll throw up the necessary info once acquired.

‘Terminator: Genisys’ Now Playing In Theaters Nationwide

Today marks the opening of the 5th installment in the Terminator series, Terminator: Genisys. This time lead by director Alan Taylor (Palookaville, Thor: The Dark World), Genisys brings back original series veteran Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Predator, True Lies) as the futuristic cyborg originally sent back in time to murder Sarah Connor and prevent the birth of John Connor, who would lead the human resistance in war against the machine race after Judgement Day. Starring as Sarah Connor is Emilia Clarke (Dom Hemingway, Game of Thrones), with Jai Courtney (Divergent, A Good Day To Die Hard), Jason Clarke (Lawless, The Great Gatsby), and JK Simmons (I Love You Man, Whiplash) making up the supporting cast. This time out Kyle Reese is sent back in time to protect Sarah Connor and ensure John Connor’s existence when an unexpected new series of events creates a ripple in time and Kyle and Sarah must work to ‘reset’ the future. The trailer is here again on MADE…but be sure to check this one out on the big screen. It should be a lot of fun!

Finding Novyon – No Reason x Chili Fry Freestyle

The kid Finding Novyon recently took to Twitter to drop not 1, but 2 new tracks for all of our listening pleasure. Last week, Novy released a new record titled “No Reply,” that’s 3 in a week AND his project The Food Network is still en route. With Minneapolis’ music scene on coast mode right now, Finding Novyon is one of the few artists (& Devon Reason) still dropping records consistently. All 3 of his new tracks were produced by Travis Gorman, but they all manage to have their own sounds. If “No Reason” & “Chili Fry Freestyle” are signs of things to come, you can expect a lot more dopeness in the near future. Check out both tracks below and keep an eye out for The Food Network.

Logan – Far Away (Video)

Logan, one of Chicago’s brightest up and coming MCs; recently survived a very close brush with death while driving on the Dan Ryan in Chicago. For those that don’t know, the Dan Ryan is the name of the southern corridor of Interstate 94 in Chicago, the shooting is said to have taken place between 43rd street & 55th street. Supposedly the assailants pulled up alongside of Logan’s white Impala letting off around 10 shots (8 shells found) directly into his driver side doors/windows, luckily the young artist managed to escape with just a graze wound to the head. Logan promptly released the above visual, to us it serves as a reminder, this video could just have easily been locked in the vault forever if he hadn’t been so lucky. Check out “Far Away” above and be on the look out for more from Logan.
