Chester Watson recently dropped a new video for a his track title “Creed.” The Miami MC continues to prove his worth slicing Dave Sparkz’ instrumental to pieces with sharp, precise wordplay. Ahead of his years perhaps, Chester shows a prowess that’s rarely seen in an artist his age. The visual is simple, clean and compliments the record well; a solid body of work from an artist who should be on everyone’s radar. Chester will bless the stage at Soundset in May, for now check out the video for “Creed” above.

Chicago’s hip hop scene might have taken a few hits due to artist relocation, but there are still quite a few talented musicians in the city. One of those artists is Closed Sessions MC Alex Wiley, if you’re familiar with Chicago’s music scene at all you’ve surely heard his name. Wiley recently dropped his One Singular Flame Emoji mixtape, a wide spectrum of his talents rolled up into 9 tracks. Wiley is surprisingly calm during the course of this project contrasting his often wild and animated style. A display of versatility, One Singular Flame Emoji further showcases Alex Wiley’s growth as a musician. Chicago has yet another reason to be proud, 2015 looks like it can be a big year for Wiley, check out One Singular Flame Emoji below and stay tuned for more.
Miami’s own Pouya recently took to Twitter to drop a new song titled “Heed.” Produced by Cian P, the jazzy, horn heavy track features the likes of Alex Wiley and Allan Kingdom. A trio to be reckoned with, all 3 of these artists are buzzing hard in their respective cities. “Heed” feels like an experiment among friends, the record isn’t as cohesive as one would like, but it’s still well worth a few spins. If this is what these guys call a “loose” record, we can’t wait to see what else is in the vault. Check out “Heed” above and make sure to keep an eye out for all 3 of these artists, you can expect to see a lot more of these guys in the near future.
This past weekend, we were taking a stroll around the new stadium and couldn’t help but notice the remnants of the golden years. Back when Twins baseball was the living and breathing life of the city. Back when all you heard was Kirby Puckett’s name around town. The Chicago native brought his swagger to TC and helped bring in two titles and some great memories. Here’s to what is left – now it’s on to the start of a new era, on old grounds.
The homie Finding Novyon recently put me on to his photographer and friend, Vincent Weglarz. After a little digging, I found that Vincent has an extensive collection of very impressive photos. His portfolio contains a wide range of awesome pictures whether it’s a concert, landscape, cityscape, models, cats or simply just chillin with the crew. For those who continue to sleep, this kid should definitely be on your radar, we guarantee you’ll see a lot more of his work in the near future. Versatile and well rounded, Vincent’s photos exude the energy of the moment, click the link below to check out more of his work.
