Minneapolis’ hip hop scene continues it’s hot streak today with the release of Rapper Hooks’ new project 340AM. Hooks’ debut album stays in house with only 2 features from his BLVCKSPVCE brethren GoodKarmaNiles & Ninety. The production side of things is no different, RP Hooks produces majority of the album with help from only Amati & Ninety (BLVCKSPVCE). Yesterday, Minneapolis’ own Lizzo posted the trailer for her upcoming web-series Big GRRRL Small World. The show should give a little insight into what goes on behind the scenes in Lizzo’s life. The trailer shows some fun at the State Fair and what looks like a trip to Glam Doll Donuts, check it out above and be on the look out for episode 1.
A couple of weekends ago, Cal Surf held a Cookout/Skate contest at Ojibway Park in Woodbury. The event featured the likes of Dalton Jones, Jesse Kruger, Tj Moran, Andrew Ellison and Pat Gallaher all tearing it up. A couple of the west coast’s best kept secrets and most consistent artists, Rey Res & Goldenchyld (of The Bangerz), are back in full effect today with the new video for “Duck Down”. Res is promoting his upcoming release with Ineffable Music Group titled Heart of The City. Be on the lookout for that and if you’re not familiar yet, do your research. This time, the Queens native heads down to New Orleans for a look at what the city’s nightlife & food scenes have to offer. These dude’s were just in Chicago over this past weekend and word around town is that they shut it down. If you aren’t familiar, Two Fresh is a production duo of twin brothers out of Denver.
