The homie $teez Dolphyn recently remixed Doja Cat’s track “So High” resulting in a heavy hitting, trance like upgrade. With a sound almost slow’d n screw’d, this track is definitely one to bang with the windows all the way down. $teez has been under the radar, but he’s continuing to impress. Click the link below and spark one up to this.

Kid Cudi had a rare performance at North Coast Music Festival in Chicago yesterday, which ended in a scary moment. During the remix to “Pursuit of Happiness” Cudi jumped into the photo pit and started signing autographs and greeting fans, in the above video you can clearly see him fall unconscious around the :56 sec mark. There is no clear cause for his loss of consciousness, but the good news is that Cudi later said that he is ok.

Did you happen to miss the other beer festivals this summer? Well, you’re in luck, because the Summer Beer Dabbler is less than a week away. The 6th annual Summer Beer Dabbler will be held at a brand new location and has expectations to be the best one yet. With the new location being held at the St. Paul Saint’s Midway Stadium, it should make for an open and fun environment.

Nike SB has been awfully quite during the second half of the year, but they’re beginning to unveil a couple of exclusives. On August 30th, The Dunk Highs dubbed the “31st State” will drop online via Nike and at select retailers across the nation. You may remember these from a few years back, these are pretty much the Lows re-released in High form. That classic California flag colorway intact, these will surely fly off of the shelves, if you’re looking to cop you should check in with Cal-Surf or Familia or try your luck online.
Since his release from prison for tax evasion in April 2013, Wesley Snipes has been keeping a low profile on the Hollywood scene. Snipes had passively expressed interest in revamping his breakthrough vampire role, Blade, after the disappointment of Blade: Trinity (2004), but it hasn’t seemed like it’s something that he is really pushing. Just recently, however, the New York Daily News reported that Snipes is definitely set to appear in Blade 4 and that he will receive a $3 million paycheck, plus a certain percentage of the gross. While this is exciting news, the chances of it being true are relatively slim. The problem with making another Blade movie is that the rights to the films are still held by Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema, while the rights to the character have gone to Marvel (in the wake of the new comic-book era of film), which is owned by Disney. And the last time Walt Disney Pictures released a movie that had an R-rating attached to it was….oh yeah, never! I’m not saying that it wouldn’t be cool to see another Blade movie with Snipes reprising the role, but I also can’t imagine Disney selling the character rights in a time when comic-book movies with Marvel characters are the biggest money-makers in the industry. But we’ll wait and see. Maybe there is a chance that it will happen, but I’d also like to know the source the NY Daily News is quoting as well. Stay tuned.
We first reported that last month that a biopic about iconic rap group NWA titled Straight Outta Compton (in reference to their first album) was in the works at Universal and that O’Shea Jackson Jr. would potentially be cast to portray Ice Cube in the movie. As far as we can tell that still appears to be accurate, but now we also have news that Lakeith Lee Stanfield (Memoria, The Purge: Anarchy) has been chosen to play the role of Calvin Broadus Jr., otherwise known as Snoop Dog (or Snoop Lion as of last year), who first appeared on the rap-scene around the same time as NWA. That means he and Jackson Jr. will be joining a cast of relatively unknown actors, including Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre, Jason Mitchell as Easy-E, Aldis Hodge as MC Ren, and Neil Brown Jr. as DJ Yella. Other cast members include Paul Giamatti as Jerry Heller, NWA’s manager, and Carra Patterson as Tomica Woods. The film will be directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, The Italian Job), but this is just another project on Stanfield’s list of upcoming movies. The actor is also scheduled to appear in the upcoming Miles Davis biopic with Don Cheadle, Miles Ahead, and Oprah Winfrey’s upcoming Civil Rights drama Selma, which centers on the marches between Selma and Montgomery, Alabama in 1965. Now that the cast is pretty much all in place, filming on this new biopic should begin soon, but we’ll keep an eye out for an official start and potential release date.

We have been talking about this one for quite a long time, and now it’s finally here! The long awaited sequel to Frank Miller’s Sin City hits theaters this week, and the producers are eager to see the final numbers for the opening weekend that starts today (Friday, August 28)! Reviews for the film have not been overly satisfying; many have stated that the film is an entertaining watch that revives the stylized violence and cinematography of the original but lacks in a compelling overall story-line. Whatever the case, fans of the original or of Miller’s graphic novel will be flocking to the theaters this weekend, so if you are looking for something to fill in your schedule, I would definitely recommend going to see this one! Here again is the trailer if you need any further convincing. Enjoy!
Bobby Raps is back with a brand new track fresh from the vault. As The Stand4rd continues to gain momentum, Bobby takes some solo time on “Wear N’ Tear”. Some newnew no doubt, this track is a lot different than Bobby’s previous releases with a bit of rock infused on the track. Just when you thought you had him figured out, he switches gears completely with yet another dope single. As the wave continues to grow, it’ll be interesting to see what’s next from Bobby Raps and The Stand4rd.
